Your Tasks
General Ledger & Financial Records
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Process general cost invoices
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Ensure proper documentation of all accounting procedures
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (US GAAP, Tax GAAP, IFRS)
- Reconcile accounts and analyze balance sheet variances
- Deliver financial reports and insights to management and controlling teams
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Execute closing activities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Calculate and post accruals and provisions, including provision statements
- Calculate CIT and deferred taxes quarterly and manage prepayments
- Support tax return preparation in collaboration with external tax advisors
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor AR, AP, and fixed asset accounting
- Oversee dunning processes and support SOX compliance
- Participate in quality control of accounting processes
Audit & Collaboration
- Support internal and external audits
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and Germany
Your Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, ideally in a multinational or German-based company
- Experience in the logistics industry is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, CargoWise) is a plus
Soft Skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility during month-end close periods
Language
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus
